Abstract

The electron correlation effects on the photoelectron angular distribution parameters during photoionization of N and Ne gases in the photon energy range of 1 to 10 keV were studied. It was found that the parameters were quite strong and exhibited strong cancellation effects due to interchannel coupling. Results also showed the use of core-ionized or core-excited atoms as a means of exploring the effects in nondipole photoelectron angular distributions above the threshold.
